Francis William Denton



Francis William Denton was born on September 24th, 1896, to Toronto lawyer Francis Brown Denton. He was admitted to Osgoode Hall Law School in 1914, and was called to the Bar of Ontario on October 1st, 1919. Denton practiced law in Toronto, until his appointment as a Junior Judge of the County of York in 1936. He served on the bench until his retirement in 1971. Denton served as a member of the Board of Commissioners of Police for the City of Toronto, as a trustee for the Toronto Board of Education and the Toronto General Hospital, and served as Vice-President of the Friends of Italy Society. In his private life, Denton was a painter and a member of the Arts and Letters Club in Toronto. Frank Denton died on November 21st, 1987
